The fun of keeping fit in a good cause

 Overgate Hospice Mountain Bike Challenge

 A team of ten people from Maude’s entered into the Overgate Hospice Mountain Bike Challenge on Sunday 20^th June 2010 to raise funds for this worthy cause. For anyone who knows our fantastic countryside they will appreciate the meaning of the word “challenge” in this 23 mile cycle ride which took in many a hill and dale. First back for Maude’s was the oldest member of the pack Russell McGrath with a time of 2 hours 37 minutes with Ollie Townsend hot on his heels even after arriving late and starting at least ten minutes after everyone else. There were several casualties in the team with two broken bikes resulting in their riders being unable to complete the course and several ungraceful dismounts throughout the course. Well done to all of those who entered it was a great success and everyone had a good time.
